About Ken Wood
Ken Wood captured more than two dozen national and state writing awards, including Suburban Journalist of the Year in the U.S. and 19 honors from The Press Club of Cleveland , before embarking on a second career in nonprofit communications in 2008. After a journalism career with Advance Publications, owner of Sun News and cleveland.com, he worked as director of communications for Western Reserve Land Conservancy and Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Ohio. He holds a journalism degree from Bowling Green State University.
A three-time national Nonprofit Storytelling Conference attendee, Ken believes in the power of stories to elevate organizations. He strives to find compelling stories, tell them on the right platform and re-purpose them generously. He believes the best images an organization can publish are those showing people in action rather than posing. He understands that nonprofits have not one but many audiences -- and each has a slightly different way of receiving information.

Ken was a youth baseball coach for 15 years and is currently on the board of directors of Footpath Foundation, a nonprofit that provides more kids with outdoor opportunities.
